Subdivision Development
This 11 lot subdivision is located in beautiful Naramata, British Columbia. The project entailed blasting 25,000 m3 of rock for a road way with utility trenching. The project posed a unique challenge in trying to preserve unique natural features at the owners request such as ornamental rocks and trees and working closely near environmentally sensitive areas without disturbance. Site safety was of most importance working close to the narrow winding public road at the entrance. Blast mats and traffic control were utilized to ensure safety standards were maintained.

Close proximity blasting, home at 85 meters and a roadway within 15 meters
Use of blast mats when needed
Challenges included several realignments of the road which caused extra blasting in single rows creating an abundance of oversize rock on site.
We did a great job at working around some of nature’s artwork at the owner’s request such as large ornamental rocks and trees.
